Enforcement Officer - Vancouver

Department: Parking lot workers
Location: North Vancouver Northwest Central, BC

As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring parking regulations are upheld fairly and consistently while delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Patrol an assigned area by vehicle
  • Issue warnings and quotes for illegally parked vehicles (using LPR vehicle system)
  • Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes
  • Make arrangements for illegally parked or abandoned vehicles to be towed, and direct tow-truck drivers to the correct vehicles
  • Observe and report hazardous conditions such as replacement of unsafe signage within lot, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain required records, records of parking enforcement, operational records and records of quoted quotations
  • Maintain assigned equipment and supplies such as hand-held computers, quote book, etc.
  • Provide information to the public regarding parking regulations and facilities
  • Inform the public about policies, services or procedures
  • Identify stolen, and counterfeit parking permits
  • Duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Cautious and courteous driver, with a valid full provincial drivers license and a clean driving record
  • Must be able to commute reliably
  • Confidence in problem solving and ability to manage stressful situations
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate both written and verbally
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of handheld computer, personal computer (Windows XP/Mobile) and mobile phone features
